Geography-specific opportunities 

Egypt, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Uganda: The Unicorn Incubation Programme is seeking applications from early-stage tech-enabled start-ups. Selected companies will receive seed capital as well as training and mentorship. More information is available here.

Botswana, Cameroun, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Ethiopia, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda and  Zimbabwe: Applications have opened for the second cohort of the Google for Start-up Black Founders Fund for Africa which will award $4 million in funding to up to 60 black-founded start-ups. Selected start-ups will receive between $50,000 and $100,000 in non-dilutive cash awards and up to US$200,000 per start-up in Google Cloud credits. Apply here.

Kenya, Nigeria, South AfricaGoogle Hustle Academy is taking applications from early-stage businesses for a free one-week business development boot-camp. Participating companies will receive live training sessions, mentorship and masterclasses by subject matter experts. The program is designed to help accelerate business growth, through increased revenues, and advance investment readiness. Apply here.

Zambia: The Zambia Business Angel Network is taking applications from start-ups seeking early-stage investment. Angel investors in the network will also provide guidance and expertise to entrepreneurs to support the growth of their businesses. More information is available here.

Pan-African opportunities 

VC4A Venture Showcase Africa – Women Founder Edition is seeking women founders leading innovative, high-growth scale-ups seeking to raise funding for growth. Selected participants will receive mentorship and technical advice from angel investors, VC fund managers and Corporates in VC4A’s network. More information is available here.

Health54, the healthcare dedicated Corporate Venture Capital vehicle of CFAO Group, is investing in high-potential start-ups operating in Africa’s healthcare sectors, as part of its 2022 Digital Transformation Challenge. Health start-ups with innovations in healthcare management, diagnostics, telehealth, medical supply chains and logistics as well as health financing and insurance are invited to apply. The Jaza Rift Ventures Fund is seeking start-ups with scalable digital health solutions that have high-growth potential. The fund invests between $200,000 to $2 million in equity funding and venture debt to pre-seed, seed and Series A stage healthcare start-ups across the continent. Apply here.
